Face Fit Testing

Objectives

To test delegates to ensure correct fit of respiratory protection equipment using qualitative testing methods, against various half and disposable masks.

Contents

• Practical testing of all delegates

Delegates should bring with them the type of masks they use.  These can be supplied but will be charged.

Test Duration

Minimum 30 Minutes

Delegates are asked not to smoke, drink (except fresh water) or eat for at least 30 minutes prior to the face fit test being carried out.

Delegates require to be clean shaven to ensure an airtight seal between the mask and face.

Delegates require to bring along any other PPE that will be worn at the same time as the RPE e.g. Ear defenders, glasses, goggles, hard hat.

The company is responsible to ensure all delegates have been trained to correctly fit the RPE and all other PPE they will be wearing prior to arriving for the face fit testing.
