The value of Emergency First Aid Training

A current TV advertising campaign backed by the British Heart Foundation and featuring Vinnie Jones, encourages members of the public to perform simple hands-only CPR and focus on chest compressions when somebody is in cardiac arrest.

A poll for the British Heart Foundation suggests that nearly half of people are put off helping someone in cardiac arrest because of a lack of knowledge about CPR.

Evolve Training emphasises the importance of Emergency First Aid training, particularly for employees to give them the confidence to help save someone in cardiac arrest.

For people who have First Aid certification, if confronted by a medical emergency, they should follow what they learnt on their training course.

Evolve Training provides a one-day Emergency First Aid course (£75 + VAT) and a three-day First Aid at Work, including use of defibrillator course (£225 + VAT) which covers the following areas:

  •  assess the situation in an emergency
  •  administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
  •  administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  •  administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
  •  administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock

A free annual update is offered annually for two years after delegates complete a three-day First Aid at Work course through Evolve Training. Annual updates ensure that first aid certificate holders are kept abreast of any changes for this valuable life saving skill.

For people who have not had first aid training through Evolve, an annual update is still available for £55 + VAT.

The First Aid staff at Evolve Training are not only instructors but also practitioners with all having hands-on experience.
